Few things to keep in mind before starting off:

It is necessary to keep at least a few basic tools in your car’s boot for attempting instant car repairs, like varieties of wrenches; an assortment of screwdrivers; sets of sockets and ratchets; pliers; jack; c-clamp; and so on.
  • Make sure that you buy good quality tools that come with rubber handles and a sufficient surface area because they give a better grip as compared to plastic handles.
  • In case of specific part replacements, ensure that you purchase only those parts that are compatible with your car’s model number and year of manufacture. It is important to remember that compromise with quality can prove fatal. In this case, if you do not find the genuine car parts in the market then you can contact the manufacturers or the dealers for the same. They can supply the genuine car parts with limited warranty.
  • Apart from that, to know about your car, you should read the car’s manual. Always maintain the manufacturer’s guidelines to repair the car. Otherwise, you cannot claim the insurance in the future.

Some easy to-do Car Repairs:

  • Brake pads – If you experience a squeaky noise whenever you push the brake, the brake pad needs replacement. You will need a torque wrench, ratchets, c-clamp and tire iron for this purpose. Still, if you have any issue then you can consult with the car repairs and they will replace the brake pads with their advanced tools and techniques.
  • ABS sensors – ABS sensors tend to stop functioning in the right manner when dust and grime accumulate on the sensor surfaces. Brakes and ABS sensors should be repaired or checked simultaneously as they work in sync with each other. Apart from that, with your DIY tools, you can easily replace your car’s headlights and backlights. Even you can also change the indicators with your screwdrivers.
  • Worn out windshields – The rubber lining on a windshield helps clear water off the windscreen during heavy rains. When this goes ineffective, the driver’s visibility may be blurred, leading to accidents. All that is needed for repair is a screwdriver and a fresh set of wipers.
  • Car's fuse – A common symptom of a blown-up fuse is non-functional headlights. In that situation, you simply need a replacement unit that is compatible with your car fuse type. Fuses are either ceramic, blade or glass tube type.
  • Punctured tires – Deflated tires are perhaps the most common aspect of car repairs that a driver cannot but deal with. Paraphernalia needed are just a jack, screwdrivers, and a spare tire.
  • Spark plugs and wires – Faulty spark plugs, or spark plug wires may be identified by symptoms such as trouble revving up the engine, a rough ride, and lowering mileage. Replacement parts are cheap and easily available and can be done within minutes.
  • Changing air filter – Only a screwdriver and a new air filter are needed for this. The steps are uncomplicated: use a screwdriver to open the plastic covering (to be spotted at the side of the car engine), replace the air filtering equipment, and put everything back in place as before.
Once these have been mastered, owners will be able to deal with more complex challenges related to car repairs in a better way.
